Organic Visibility Across Every Market You Operate In
Brand recognition doesn't translate to search visibility across borders. International SEO means understanding how each market searches differently, not just translating English content and hoping for the best. I've managed SEO across 12 markets and 9 languages.

Why international SEO fails
The most common mistake: taking English content, translating it, and assuming that's international SEO. It isn't. Search behaviour differs fundamentally by market. What Australians search for differs from what Singaporeans, Germans, or Brazilians search, even for the same product or service.
Then there's the technical complexity: hreflang implementation errors are extremely common and silently destroy multi-market SEO. URL structure decisions — ccTLDs vs subfolders vs subdomains — have long-term implications. Geotargeting configuration in Search Console is routinely misconfigured. These aren't small issues. They compound over years.
My approach to international SEO
- Market-specific keyword research — researching search demand in each target market independently, not translating keywords
- Hreflang architecture — implementing correct hreflang annotations to prevent cross-market cannibalisation and signal the right content to the right market
- URL structure strategy — ccTLD vs subfolder vs subdomain decisions based on your specific business model, budget, and timeline
- Localised content — content that addresses local regulations, cultural context, market-specific search behaviour, and locally relevant examples
- Technical international SEO — geotargeting in Search Console, server location decisions, CDN strategy, and international site speed

Why hire me directly?
Most businesses have to choose: hire a consultant and get one brain, or hire an agency and get a machine with no direct access to the person running it. When you work with me, you don't have to choose.
Every strategy call, audit, and recommendation comes from me personally. But backing every decision is the data, systems, and specialist depth of StudioHawk: Australia's, APAC's, and globally recognised #1 SEO and AI Search agency. 115 specialists. 2,000+ campaigns. The most awarded SEO operation in the country. All of it, available to your business as a flexible resource.
A full StudioHawk engagement costs significantly more and locks you into an agency model. A consultant without agency backing gives you one person's perspective. Working with me gives you both: direct access to the person who built the machine, with the ability to flex in specialist support across technical SEO, digital PR, and content exactly when you need it.
I hired the specialists, engineered the culture, and created the systems that produced 45+ industry wins at Australian, APAC, and global level. That pattern recognition, knowing what separates campaigns that compound from ones that plateau, is what I bring directly to your business.
Most agencies are still catching up. I've been building AI visibility strategies since ChatGPT Search launched and it's the primary focus of my consulting work. The businesses getting cited in AI answers right now are pulling ahead fast. That gap is still closeable, but not for much longer.
How I work
Clear from day one. No surprises.
Market Analysis
Assess each target market independently: search volume, competition, regulatory requirements, and opportunity size. Prioritise rollout order.
Technical Architecture
Design URL structure, hreflang implementation, and hosting strategy before building anything.
Localised Content
Create market-specific content that addresses local search behaviour, not translations but locally relevant pages.
Market Expansion
Systematic rollout to additional markets using the framework we've built. Scalable and repeatable.

Common questions
ccTLD, subfolder, or subdomain — which is best for international SEO?
It depends on your situation, and anyone who gives you a definitive answer without knowing your business model is oversimplifying. ccTLDs send the strongest geotargeting signal but require separate link building per domain. Subfolders consolidate authority but require correct hreflang implementation. Subdomains are supported by Google but don't consolidate authority as effectively as subfolders. I recommend the right structure for your specific situation after understanding your budget, timeline, and existing domain authority.
What is hreflang and why does it matter?
Hreflang is an HTML attribute that tells Google which language and regional version of a page to show to users in specific countries. Without correct hreflang implementation, Google may show Australian users your US content or show duplicate content penalties for near-identical regional pages. Hreflang errors are extremely common. I see them in the majority of international sites I audit.
Do I need separate keyword research for each market?
Yes. The search terms people use for the same product differ significantly by market: different vocabulary, different purchase intent signals, different competitor landscapes. Translating Australian keyword research into German or Thai is one of the most common international SEO mistakes.
How long does international SEO take?
Entering a new market from scratch typically takes 6-12 months to build meaningful organic visibility. Established markets with existing domain authority in the target country can move faster. The technical setup is completed first, with content and link building ongoing.
